aloha, i’m Zenodie Arlas.
meet ENZO, MY MASTER
I AM 39 YEARS OLD, BORN IN CALIFORNIA, AND SPENT 22 YEARS OF MY LIFE IN PARIS, FRANCE. FOLLOWING with FOUR YEARS IMMERSED IN THE BREATHTAKING LANDSCAPES OF THE BIG ISLAND, HAWAI'I, I CONTINUED LIVING MY DREAM AMIDST THE STUNNING WILDERNESS PANORAMA OF CENTRAL OREGON. AS A DEVOTED HORSEWOMAN AND COACH, MY COMMITMENT LIES IN PROMOTING ETHICAL HORSE PRACTICES, EMPHASIZING A POSITIVE PERSPECTIVE FROM THE HORSE'S POINT OF VIEW. DRAWING UPON THE WEALTH OF EQUINE SCIENCE, ENCOMPASSING DISCIPLINES SUCH AS BEHAVIORAL, ANATOMICAL, AND BIOLOGICAL STUDIES, I STRIVE TO SHARE MY DISTINCTIVE AND INSPIRING INSIGHTS AND EXPERIENCES.
I imagine a place of peace for HORSes, knowing they’re understood.
I imagine a safe environment where horsemen and women could enjoy every moment spent around any equine partner.
MY EQUESTRIAN JOURNEY COMMENCED WITH RIGOROUS TRAINING, CULMINATING IN THE ATTAINMENT OF THE 7 DEGREES (GALOP 7) BY THE AGE OF 17. THIS CERTIFICATION, MANDATED BY THE FÉDÉRATION FRANÇAISE D’ÉQUITATION (FFE), DEMONSTRATES PROFICIENCY IN SHOWING, TRAINING, OR PURSUING A TEACHING BACHELOR'S DEGREE. GALOP 7 ENCOMPASSES THE THREE PRIMARY DISCIPLINES OF ENGLISH RIDING STYLES: DRESSAGE, JUMPING, AND CROSS-COUNTRY JUMPING, ALONGSIDE COMPREHENSIVE THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE. ACHIEVING GALOP 7 SIGNALS ENTRY INTO THE GRAND PRIX LEVEL, REQUIRING MASTERY NOT ONLY OF THE DISCIPLINES BUT ALSO OF EQUINE BIOMECHANICS AND HORSEMANSHIP PRINCIPLES.
IN 2001, I EMBARKED ON SIDE-SADDLE RIDING, SECURING MY GALOP 7 IN THIS DISCIPLINE AT AGE 20. PARTICIPATING ACTIVELY IN VARIOUS SHOWS, I DISPLAYED MY SKILLS IN DRESSAGE, JUMPING, AND SIDE-SADDLE TEAM CAROUSEL ROUTINES. WHAT BEGAN AS AN AMATEUR ENDEAVOR EVOLVED INTO MY LIFE'S CALLING, ESPECIALLY AFTER WORKING WITH REMARKABLE SPORT HORSES UNDER THE MENTORSHIP OF MY GUIDES. IN 2012, I RELOCATED TO THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS, EMBRACING THE ROLE OF AN INSTRUCTOR AND SHARING THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED DURING MY FORMATIVE YEARS IN FRANCE.
MY ODYSSEY TOOK A TRANSFORMATIVE TURN IN 2015 WHEN I RETURNED TO FRANCE TO PURSUE MY MASTER'S DEGREE (BFEE1 & 2) IN EQUINE ETHOLOGY APPLIED TO HORSEMANSHIP AT HARAS DE LA CENSE. THIS RENOWNED INSTITUTION LEADS IN ETHOLOGICAL EQUITATION IN EUROPE. DELVING INTO THE EVOLVING SCIENCE OF EQUINE BEHAVIOR ENHANCED MY UNDERSTANDING AND INFORMED A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO TRAINING ACROSS DIFFERENT BREEDS AND DISCIPLINES.
SETTLING IN THE PICTURESQUE STATE OF OREGON IN 2016, I DEDICATED MYSELF TO PERFECTING MY WESTERN RIDING SKILLS AND MASTERING THE ART OF WORKING WITH CATTLE. SERVING AS A SENIOR GUIDE FOR MANY SEASONS, I NAVIGATED THE RUGGED TERRAINS OF THE HIGH COUNTRY, LEADING LONG RIDES AND MULTI-DAY EXPEDITIONS UP TO 7,700 FT. ADDITIONALLY, I DEVOTED MY EFFORTS TO VARIOUS EQUINE RESCUES IN CENTRAL OREGON, ASSISTING IN THE REHABILITATION AND REHOMING OF HORSES IN NEED. THROUGHOUT, I'VE REMAINED COMMITTED TO CONTINUOUS TRAINING OF HORSES AND COACHING STUDENTS, ENSURING UNWAVERING DEDICATION TO THE EQUESTRIAN COMMUNITY.
